Register a Domain
From the dashboard, click Add Project or Create Your First Project, if this is your first. Enter the address of your site, including https://, and click Add.
Adding a site claims it; it does not yet collect anything. Anyone can claim any address, so Pushbroom records a site only once you have shown you control it, in either of two ways:
- Install the snippet. The snippet on your dashboard carries your site’s key. Put it on your homepage, then click Verify. Pushbroom fetches your homepage and looks for the key.
- Add a DNS record. A
TXTrecord on the domain itself, with the value shown on your dashboard (pushbroom-verification=followed by your key). Use this when your homepage’s HTML does not carry the snippet until JavaScript runs.
If someone else has claimed your domain, it does not matter: claims do not block each other, and the first to verify owns it.
Subdomains count separately: example.com and shop.example.com are two different projects There is no mechanism for following a person from one site to another, including from one of your sites to another of your sites.
